Captain David Randby is originally from Long Island, New York and grew up enjoying summers fishing, boating and swimming with family and friends. His early years involved fishing for both snappers on the Long Island Sound and bass in local ponds. In his teenage years, he cast a wider net and fished for blues, stripers, fluke and flounders.
Dave attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and, upon graduation, moved to Vail Colorado. In Colorado, he honed his fly-fishing skills catching trout. He spent many hours taking clients fly-fishing and rafting on the numerous rivers that crisscross the state. After 25 years in Colorado, he moved back East to western New York, chasing steelhead on the small creeks that flow into Lake Erie and Ontario, otherwise known as Steelhead Alley. That job eventually took him to Alaska where he explored the world of fly-fishing for salmon and trout, including Chinook, coho, grayling and Dolly Varden. Captain Dave is now bringing his expertise to St. Croix and is committed to helping clients catch saltwater species such as tarpon, bonefish and snook. He is fully licensed, holding a United States Coast Guard OUPV 6-pack license, allowing him to take up to 6 passengers for hire up to 100 miles offshore. Captain Dave invites you to join him on the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean for the fishing adventure of a lifetime.
"I have never cared about setting world records, or filling my boat with fish.
I go for the experience of spending six hours in the arms of the ocean, never thinking of a single thing except chasing fish"
~ Jimmy Buffett ~
